There are five species of Adenium, a flowering plant native to Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. All are toxic, and one species, A. obesum, is used to make a powerful arrow poison for hunting large game. It's also cultivated as a houseplant in temperate regions, appreciated for its colorful flowers and useful applications for bonsai.
