the Garden

October 1 - 30 (closed Mondays, except Columbus Day): Enjoy creative scarecrows handcrafted by businesses, individuals, schools and organizations, scattered throughout the Garden.

We’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of Scarecrows in the Garden with extra special programming, local celebrity judges and exciting prize packages! Winners will be announced live at the Garden’s Great Pumpkin-Carving Fest on October 27. The 2022 judges include Christine Pullara of Atlanta & Company, Chef Joey Ward of Southern Belle & Georgia Boy and Jessica Black, 2010 Miss USA. Prizes include an Atlanta United VIP Experience, The Inn at Serenbe VIP Package, a $250 gift card to Southern Belle/Georgia Boy and much more.

About the exhibition

Scarecrows in the Garden brings to the Garden dozens of creations by local artists, crafters, youth groups and more. Entrants and visitors will delight in discovering their own personal favorites.

Categories for your creations

AMATEUR
Families, schools, service organizations and individuals.

CREATIVE PROFESSIONAL
For scarecrows created by a person or team who is in any way compensated for art, design, or fabrication services.

BUSINESS
Business logo and/or website allowed provided it is used once, no larger than 12” x 12”.

Anyone can register! Families, community groups, businesses, schools, college students and individuals are all welcome to participate.

Visit with your Scarecrow 

For each paid registration, you will be entitled to four (4) free daytime admission tickets to the Atlanta Botanical Garden during the exhibition. Registrants can pick up tickets at check-in during the scarecrow drop-off.

Members see it free

Great Pumpkin-Carving Fest

This extra special Fest of Ale evening will feature live performances, roving entertainment for all ages, festive treats and a beer garden– culminating in an epic carve contest spotlighting our most talented pumpkin-loving Garden members and friends!
